Meet the 2018 AMP Tomorrow Makers

For the fifth year, the AMP Foundation has awarded amazing Australians doing great things $1 million in grants through its Tomorrow Fund. Forty-three individuals will use their grants to make a positive impact in a range of fields - from science to social innovation, the environment to technology and the arts.

Although diverse, many are driven by their personal experiences, including:

  • Robyn Leonard: After her losing her daughter to brain cancer, Robyn has been on a mission to unlock access to brain tissue and data for pioneering research.
  • Hunter Johnson: Hunter co-founded The Man Cave, a non-profit providing school-based emotional intelligence programs that help young men talk through challenges.
  • Monique Mastrobattista: This 15-year-old kindness advocate spreads her anti-bullying message through social media, books and school presentations.
  • Mike Tozer: Inspired by his sister’s struggle, Mike established Xceptional to place people with autism in tech jobs. His new app will post jobs in autism-friendly ways.
  • Fatma Elzein: This paediatric nurse set up Mummies Paying It Forward, which enables 20,000 volunteers to donate and distribute baby items to parents in need.
  • Darren Lomman: Shocked to learn how much plastic is in our oceans, this engineer is working with schools to set up WA’s first plastic reprocessing plant.

To date 230 Australians have received grants, from $5,000 to $100,000. Learn more at ampstomorrowfund.com.au
